What makes working for PaymentGenes unique?

Working for PaymentGenes has been an absolute breath of fresh air. Prior to joining PaymentGenes, I owned my own company and had been active as an entrepreneur for a few years. Through a mutual contact, I was made aware that PaymentGenes was looking for an ''International Business Development Manager''. After I told my contact that I was interested to learn more, I was called by Jan Joost, within 5 minutes we had agreed to meet, and the rest is history. One of the things I value about PaymentGenes is that I have always felt able to be an entrepreneur within an organisation. As a business, we are also unique on many different levels, but what I find worth noting is that we are the only payments-recruitment company globally that is founded and backed by true industry specialists from across the entire value chain.

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Let's start off with my weaknesses: Firstly, I talk too much. There, I've said it. Secondly, I am not too good at saying no, but surprisingly enough, only when doing businesses. For me, my clients are key, which is why I would go 1000 extra miles to make them happy. We all know the slogan, “Client is King”, which are words I live by. However, if you are not respected by your clients on the same level that you respect them, there is an imbalance in the relationship which should be avoided. My pitfall is that I trust nearly anyone until proven otherwise. People may misuse this trait for their own benefit, which is why I think it is a weakness. Another weakness is that I can set the bar really high for people in my surroundings and I can be a bit of a perfectionist who wastes too much time on trying to make things perfect, whilst ''very good is also good enough.'' My weaknesses are partly also my strengths, as being a perfectionist and wanting to put clients' needs first are not always bad things. In addition, I am straight honest, curious, eager to learn, full of life, always positive, interested in building relationships with (new) people across all levels of society, I have no shame and take full responsibility for my mistakes. I can handle negative feedback and I am a work-horse with energy like no other.

What would you say is the most interesting fact about you?

I am fiercely loyal and I never, ever quit.

How would you describe the company’s culture?

Non-corporate, with a flat hierarchy, a fun, laid back atmosphere but always hard work, opportunities for personal development, and always welcoming to all (my) animals.

How many calls per day can you handle?

I can handle them all until my battery runs out. Then I plug in my phone and get going again!

What is your favourite payment method?

Cash.

What do you usually do after a working day?

Go home and hug all my ''children'': Lio, Hope, Yara, Babe, Fientje, Luis, Spruit, Flo.
